SHINE 2Europe

SHINE 2Europe aims to promote inclusive communities to all citizens, by delivering research and support to the implementation of tech-Savvy, Healthy and INclusivE solutions. With a clear vision of fostering societal growth and inclusiveness, SHINE promotes sharing of good practices, active networking between different stakeholders and countries and projects in areas deemed as essential to society, such as equality and inclusion, ethical behaviour and environmental responsibility. SHINE chairs the COST Action NET4Age-Friendly is a Member of the Focus Group of the EU Pact for Skills for the Proximity and Social Economy ecosystem.

Role: Leads the WP6. Communication and Dissemination and is responsible for tasks on stakeholder mapping and takeholder needs assessment.

Carina Dantas

Carina Dantas has a degree in Law, she is a PhD candidate on Biomedical Sciences (AI ethics) and is the CEO and Chief Investigator of SHINE 2Europe with over 25 years-experience in areas related to health, social aspects and ICT. She is Co-Director of the SHAFE Foundation - Smart Healthy Age-friendly Environments, was the Chair of the COST Action NET4Age-Friendly (2020-2024), which gathered over 775 participants from 50 countries and she was Vice-President of the European Covenant on Demographic Change until 2023. She is also Committee Member of CEN/CENELEC TC 428, having integrated the Expert Team developing the EU Ethics framework for the ICT Profession; and leading the group of experts designing the Reference Guidelines in the Field of Ethics, Data Privacy and Security, contracted by the AAL Programme. Carina manages several international projects, either as coordinator, WP lead and Task Lead.

Ângela Freitas

Angela Freitas is a geographer with a master’s degree in GIS and Spatial Planning and a PhD candidate in Human Geography (Urban Health). She works as project manager at SHINE 2Europe and as a researcher at the University of Coimbra, where she is also an Invited Assistant Professor. She has broad experience in academic research and scientific projects funded by the European Commission and national sources, alongside applied projects with local and regional governments focusing on population health, urban health, strategic planning, public policies, and health equity.

Anna Gallinat

Anna is a communications and project specialist with over a decade of experience supporting international organisations, including the European Union and the United Nations. She designs clear and engaging communication strategies and creates content across channels such as websites, newsletters, social media, and events. Passionate about health and well-being at both individual and societal levels, Anna enjoys translating complex or technical topics into user-friendly, audience-appropriate messages with clear impact. Based in Copenhagen, she works confidently in international and cross-cultural settings and am fluent in English, German, Dutch, and Danish.
